Founding members: Peter Lawrence (guitar and vocals), Iain Young (keyboards), Trevor Gobbi (bass), Andrew Petrus (guitar) and Dale Drakeford (drums) first formed as Centripidity in 1973 playing, initially, covers and then original material. A few line up changes occurred over the following couple of years, including the introduction of Grant Harris on bass and Jarrod Kennedy on drums, but eventually circumstances lead everyone in different directions and at the end of 1975 the band finally split up and the members went their separate ways.
Most of the music from that era is now long forgotten and no known recordings exist.
Now, 45 years later, one of the founding members has revived Centripidity as a solo, studio project, producing prog/art rock with a taste of jazz thrown in.
Centripidity’s debut album will be released early in 2020.
